News Story: Myanmar state counselor leaves for official visit to Japan

YANGON, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar State Counselor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi left Tuesday to pay a five-day official visit to Japan.

It will be Suu Kyi's first trip to Japan after the new government took office in April this year.

During her stay, Suu Kyi is expected to have talks with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and meet the Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko.
