News Story: Malaysia, China inks naval cooperation pact in SCS

In the politically sensitive South China Sea (SCS), an agreement was signed on Tuesday by Chinese and Malaysian Navies to ‘enhance’ cooperation ensuring peace and stability.

“We have not touched upon the details of our cooperation. Mostly we are focusing on naval cooperation,” Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin told reporters after a visit by Malaysia’s leader, who is seeking stronger ties with Beijing.
