Kabul Police Vow To Arrest Australian Woman's Kidnappers

Kabul police chief on Sunday said they have not yet found the Australian woman kidnapped on Saturday night but assured the public he will arrest the kidnappers in the near future.
"I will bring the abductors here in the near future. We made lots of progress in one night," said Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi.
The Australian woman was reportedly kidnapped at gunpoint in Qala-e-Fatullah in Kabul's PD10 on Saturday night.
According to figures by Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI), over 80 businessmen have been kidnapped this year alone.

Australian Embassy 'Making Urgent Enquiries' Into Kidnapping
Australia's Foreign Ministry has confirmed the kidnapping of an Australian woman in Kabul on Saturday evening but did not reveal further information.
"The Australian Embassy in Kabul is making urgent enquiries into reports an Australian has been kidnapped in Kabul. Due to the nature of the incident, we will not be commenting further," according to the Ministry.
Local reports suggest the victim, who reportedly works for an NGO, was kidnapped in Qala-e-Fatullah area of Kabul, where several aid workers have been taken hostage in the past.
No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction as yet.
