Members of a joint team of Afghan civil societies said on Sunday at a press conference in Kabul that civilian causalities have increased unprecedentedly in 2016.
They urged the foreign troops to take more care during operations so as not to harm civilians and to protect them.
Referring to the statistics of United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), released a few weeks ago, civil society activists said in the first six months of this year, 1,601 civilians have been killed in the war and 3,565 others wounded.
"When groups kill civilians, they must be brought to justice, even if they are government, NATO or insurgents. Because they have committed war crimes," said Khalil Raoufi, a member of the joint team of Afghan civil societies.

PacificSentinel: These people need to realize, if the Terrorists take the fight to urban areas either the Government & it's Allies surrender that urban area to the Terrorists, or they fight to reclaim it & civilians WILL die as a result, they have to choose to either live under Terrorist control for the rest of their lives, or risk death to have freedom.
