According to the deputy chief of Thai police, Srivara Ransibrahmanakul, Thailand's authorities were also informed that its citizens were frequently traveling to Syria and back.
He also said that most of the alleged Daesh supporters were from southern Thai provinces of Songkhla, Satun, Trang and Phatthalung, where Muslim Malaysian minorities live.
The deputy police chief added that Thailand's Central Investigation Bureau and the Special Branch Police would investigate the issue and prepare a report for the country’s government.
Daesh is a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia and a number of other states.
