News Story: Suspected militants snatch 2 rifles from police post in Indian-controlled Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Suspected militants stormed a police post guarding members of minority Hindu community in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir and snatched two service rifles belonging to policemen deployed there, police said Sunday.

The militants attacked police post at Tumlahaal village of Lassipora in Pulwama district, about 43 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

"Last evening militants attacked a police post at Tumlahaal village, overpowering policemen and took away their two service rifles," a police official posted in Pulwama said. "The police post in the village is meant to guard the members of minority community."

However, the policemen were left unharmed.
