News Story: Stand-off at government building in India-controlled Kashmir ends

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Indian police said Wednesday that the 56-hour-long stand-off at a government building in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir had ended.

The fierce gunfight ended with the killing of two militants, who engaged troops since Monday morning.

"The encounter started on Monday between the militants and security forces," a police spokesman said. "During this encounter two militants were killed."
