News Story: Pakistan summons Indian envoy over cross-LoC firing

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Tuesday summoned an Indian diplomat over the recent cross Line of Control (LoC) attack that had killed two civilians including a baby, officials here said.

The Pakistan army said Monday that two civilians were killed and seven civilians injured in the late Sunday India firing along the working boundary, which divides the two countries in Pakistan's Punjab Province.

Also on Tuesday, the army said the Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing on the LoC and working boundary.

"The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned and a strong protest was lodged against the unprovoked ceasefire violations on 23-24 October 2016, by the Indian occupation forces at the Working Boundary in Phuklian and Chaprar Sectors, which resulted in martyrdom of two civilians including one and a half years old innocent baby girl," the Foreign Ministry said.
