Nawa district in southern Helmand province has once again fallen to the Taliban, sources confirmed on Monday.
Sources said that Taliban launched their attack on Sunday night and took over the district police compound on Monday morning.
Ahmadshah Salem, Nawa district police chief, was reportedly killed in a clash with the Taliban.
But in a statement released by the provincial governor's media office, reinforcement troops have arrived in the area.
