News Story: Myanmar prepared for terrorism attack - official

Hanoi (VNA) - Myanmar is prepared for possible terrorism attack in the country, including surveillance of suspected terrorists and specially-trained anti-terrorist combatants, said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Aung Soe. 

Speaking to the country’s parliament on October 7, he said collaborating with local, regional and international organisations in fight against terrorism, Myanmar’s government has been working to respond speedily to destructive elements by carrying various tasks.

These include organising operation missions, deploying specially-trained anti-terrorism combat groups in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay, and guarding of dignitaries under a special security programme.
