News Story: 3 challenges about buying arms made in Russia, China

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said the Philippines will face three main challenges if it continues President Rodrigo Duterte’s plan to procure arms from Russia and China instead of its long-time ally – the United States of America, ABS-CBN reports.

1. Turning to China and Russia for arms will not come easy for soldiers who are accustomed to US technology.

“I think it will be a problem, if we decide to procure military equipment from Russia or China,” Lorenzana said during a forum with foreign correspondents.
