Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Wednesday said U.S. special forces will remain in Mindanao despite President Rodrigo Duterte’s words that he wanted them out of the region so they won’t be targeted by Abu Sayyaf group.
“We still need them there because they have the surveillance capability that our Armed Forces don’t have,” Lorenzana spoke before the House appropriations committee.
