After the Philippines produced photos showing possible construction activity in Scarborough shoal, a United States administration official questioned Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) that it had not detected any unusual activity in the said area, reports from Agence France-Presse.
“Chinese Naval and Coast Guard presence in the vicinity of Scarborough Reef was within the levels we’ve observed there over the past several months,” the official said as to defend Chinese activity.
