President Rodrigo Duterte met with least 25 representatives from Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) – including leaders Benito and Wilma Tiamzon, and other heads of the National Democratic Front (NDF) at the state dining room in Malacañang for a “meet and greet” Monday evening.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said “basically they were saying thank you for releasing the consultants.”
Abella said the NDF was “very enthusiastic about the current progress of the peace talks” and said that the Left hoped “there would be no cancellation of the talks.”
