News Story: Russia, Thailand agree to further cooperation in military, food

ST. PETERSBURG, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Russia and Thailand have signed a series of agreements aimed at strenthening cooperation in the fields of military, energy and food.

The agreements were signed following talks between Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Wednesday.

TASS reported that Thailand had plans to buy helicopters from Russia and also explored the possibility of purchasing Russian military equipment for its air force and ground troops.

However, Prayut Chan-o-cha said that the deal should be mutually-beneficial and asked Russia to conclude contracts for the supply of agricultural products from Thailand.
