TOKYO, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held talks Thursday with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, on a number of topics spanning terrorism and the refugee crisis.
Abe's officials said the Japanese leader was hoping to hear from his Kuwaiti counterpart about issues of terrorism and militant organizations such as the Islamic State in the Middle East, at their meeting in Tokyo.
Abe also wanted to traverse issues of the Syrian war-linked refugee crisis with his guest, with both issues pertinent to topics that will be central themes of the Group of Seven summit to be hosted by Abe here later this month.
