BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Brunei will host an ASEAN disaster response exercise in October to test ASEAN countries' readiness for and management of an emergency, local media reported on Wednesday.
Abdul Rahim, acting director of Brunei's National Disaster Management Center (NDMC), said the ASEAN Disaster Emergency Response Simulation Exercise (ARDEX) will test the regional standard protocol procedures, mechanism and frameworks to manage disasters.
Rahim said the exercise will showcase the capabilities of ASEAN countries and ASEAN's logistics through the ASEAN and national Standard Operating Procedures.
