News Story: Afghan forces smash al-Qaida cell, set free son of former Pakistani Premier

KABUL, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces following operations backed by the NATO-led Resolute Support mission in the eastern Paktika smashed a cell of al-Qaida network and recovered the son of former Pakistani Prime Minister Sayed Yusuf Reza Gilani and set him free, said a statement of Arg or Presidential Palace released here on Tuesday.

"The joint of operations of Afghan security forces and international troops in Paktika province dismantled an al-Qaida base and freed Ali Haider Gilani the son of former Pakistani Prime Minister Sayed Yusuf Reza Gilani," the statement said.
