Ambassador Richard Olson, Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, will travel to New Delhi April 6-7 to meet with Indian government officials and civil society leaders. He will discuss with Indian officials a range of regional issues including U.S. support for the Government of Afghanistan and the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces, and promotion of an Afghan-led, Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process. The visit is also an opportunity for U.S. officials to express appreciation for India’s support for the people and Government of Afghanistan, including trade ties, security and development assistance, as well as India’s key role in promoting a more stable and prosperous region.
