News Story: 11 military officers sacked in Pakistan over corruption charges

ISLAMABAD, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif, has dismissed 11 army officers over corruption charges, the military said on Thursday.

Two senior military officers - one lieutenant general and a major general - were among the sacked personnel, the army sources told the media. Besides, four brigadiers, one colonel, three lieutenant colonels and one major.

They belonged to the Frontier Corps and served in southwestern Balochistan province. Frontiers corps routinely perform duties along the border with Afghanistan. Lt. Gen. Obaid Ullah had served as head of the FC in the province.
