Photos uploaded to the internet by Chinese netizens earlier this month show the development of the People's Liberation Army's new type of anti-ship missile known as YJ-16, Zachary Keck, managing editor of National Interest magazine, said in a piece published on Aug. 15.
The photos showed a new transporter erector launch vehicle on the streets of an unknown location in China. The vehicle has a similar look with the transporter erector launch vehicle developed to launch the CJ-10 land attack cruise missile but is much bigger, according to Jeffrey Lin and PW Singer of the Eastern Arsenal blog that studies the development of the Chinese armed forces.
