News Story: PLA electronic warfare could take out Taiwan's radar systems

Alongside the commissioning of various advanced fighters and warships in China, the People's Liberation Army is preparing for potential electronic warfare against Taiwan according to Kanwa Defense Review, a Chinese-language defense magazine based in Canada.

The Fourth Department of the General Staff Department of the PLA has constructed a large radar detector in Huian in Fujian province near the Taiwan Strait. A large passive electronically scanned array radar has been constructed 687 meters away from the radar detector, which is designed to monitor frequency and the delivered power of Taiwan's PAVE PAWS phased Array Warning System located at Leshan radar station in Hsinchu.
