Brunei: Defense Cooperation between Brunei and Malaysia

Bandar Seri Begawan, Wednesday, January 28, 2015 - The Ministry of Defence is pleased to inform that the defense relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia is increasing mainly with the negotiation meetings between the two countries; training exchanges and joint military exercises; exchange of information; participation of both countries in international operations, such as the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the International Monitoring Team (IMT); and so on. 

This cooperation will be further enhanced with the submission of the draft S-70A Blackhawk helicopters belonging to the Royal Brunei Air Force (Air Force) to the Malaysian Army. 

The helicopters are still operating in the Air Force and is expected to be ready for delivery as early as in September when the new Blackhawk helicopter S-70I TUDB (are) fully operational. Evidence for such delivery will be discussed further by both parties. 

The Ministry of Defence expects delivery of these helicopters will contribute to enhancing the ability of the Armed Forces and the efforts of both countries to maintain regional peace and security.
