Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Boston, Jakarta, and Berlin from October 17 – 22.
On October 17-18, Secretary Kerry will host Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi in his hometown of Boston, Massachusetts for a series of private meetings to exchange in-depth views on U.S.-China relations and global issues of common interest.
In addition to the substantive discussions that will take place, the meetings will provide Secretary Kerry with an opportunity to share Boston’s unique history with the State Councilor.
On October 20, Secretary Kerry will lead the Presidential Delegation to Jakarta, Indonesia, to attend the Inauguration of His Excellency Joko Widodo, President-elect of Indonesia. While in Jakarta, the Secretary will also hold several bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts.
On October 21, Secretary Kerry will travel to Berlin, Germany, where he will meet with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to discuss regional and international issues, and in advance of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
