News Story: India to install 54 monitoring facilities on China border

Arunachal Pradesh Region of India Highlighted

India's Ministry of Defense will be increasing its monitoring facilities near the Arunachal Pradesh border between China and India from the current 30 points to 84, according to several high-ranking Indian executives cited in the Tokyo-based newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun.

Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi's new government is strengthening economic ties with China, it has also made it clear that it will not show compromise over territorial issues, according to the report.

The 54 new facilities will be equipped with satellite communication equipment and solar power stations, while stationed army troops will organize an advanced team for retrieving and analyzing the information coming through the facilities.
