RIMBA, Friday 13 Sept 2013 – As part of a regional cooperation, Brunei Darussalam continues to give its support to cause of peace and stability in the neighbouring state by deploying eight personnel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in the 10th International Monitoring Team (IMT) mission to oversee the ceasefire agreement between the Philippines government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
The outgoing 10th IMT contingent is headed by 396 Lieutenant Colonel Khairil bin Haji Ismail. The IMT contingent members include 593 Major (U) Sherpor Nezam bin Abd Gapor; Assistant Superintendent Eric Chin; 787 Lieutenant Mohd Hishamuddin bin Haji Marzoki; 821 Lieutenant (U) Wan Muhd Azem bin Haji Md Aminuddin; 9236 Warrant Officer 2 Suhaimi bin Rajab; 10287 Warrant Officer 2 Abu Bakar bin Abdul Rahman; and 16412 Corporal Amirul Nizam bin Kifli.
Prior to their departure, the contingent were given an official send-off at a ceremony held at Hangar B of the Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba. Present to attach armbands on each personnel was the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat. Also present were the RBAF Commander, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Aminuddin Ihsan Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and Commissioner of Police, Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Bahrin bin Mohd Noor.
The ceremony was attended members of Defence Executive Committee, civilian and military directors as well as and family members.
