TAIPEI — The Northrop Grumman Corporation is pushing the latest variant of the “Advanced Hawkeye” airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft for the Malaysian air force at this year’s biennial Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace (LIMA) Exhibition.

Malaysia is among the first countries for which the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye has been approved by the U.S. government. LIMA 2013 is being held on Langkawi Island, Malaysia, March 26-30.

The E-2D exhibit includes the E-2D workstation, but no aircraft was on display this year. “We’ve got the E-2D Tactical Work Station in the exhibit which is a demonstrator of the operator’s workstation in the back and shows the radar images up on large displays,” said Kirsti Dunn, sector communications, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems.
