BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 15 March 2013 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) will host the 10th Annual Chiefs of Defence Forces Informal Meeting (ACDFIM) on 19-21 March in order to further strengthen the bloc’s military cooperation.
The ACDFIM is a regional platform for Chiefs of Defence Forces from the ASEAN countries to discuss cooperative mechanisms for current significant matters relevant to defence and security.
Preceding the ACDFIM, there will be the 10th ASEAN Military Intelligence Informal Meeting (AMIIM) and 3rd ASEAN Military Operations Informal Meeting (AMOIM) on 17-19 March.
These meetings will focus on further enhancing mutual military cooperation among ASEAN member states in order to bring security and safety to the whole region towards the realization of an ASEAN community by 2015.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups are Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
