Sri Lanka Navy intercepted 26 persons illegally bound for Australia in 02 multi-day trawlers on 07th August 2012. The trawlers bearing the registration numbers IMUL-A-08287 MTR and IMUL-A-0302 BCO with 14 and 12 persons on board respectively were intercepted by a Fast Naval Patrol Craft attached to the Eastern Naval Command off Valachchenai in the eastern seas. All are males and they were brought to Trincomalee Harbour to be handed over to the CID for further investigations.
