INDUSTRIAL COLLABORATION IS KEY IN MALAYSIA

In line with BAE Systems’ strategy to support technology transfer to Malaysia, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with Composites Technology Research Malaysia Systems Integration Sdn Bhd.

The Systems Integration Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is designed to enable BAE Systems and Composites Technology Research Malaysia Systems Integration (CTRM SI) to identify and, if appropriate, pursue potential industrial collaboration projects for the development of systems integration capabilities and technology transfer.

The collaboration with CTRM to develop its systems integration capabilities supports the objectives set out in Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), ensuring that Malaysia has the high-end systems integration capability to provide systems integration services to the Malaysian Ministry of Defence, the Government of Malaysia and other potential customers.

Commenting on the MOU, John Brosnan, Regional Managing Director South East Asia for BAE Systems, said: “BAE Systems has a strong track record of working with Malaysian companies to develop a wide range of capabilities.  The opportunity is a good example of where BAE Systems and CTRM will be able to take systems integration in Malaysia to the next level, a key objective of the Economic Transformation Programme.  We look forward to continuing an already successful partnership with CTRM”.

Datuk Rosdi Mahmud, Group CEO of CTRM said: “the relationship between CTRM and BAE Systems has been established for many years. To further strengthen the ties, CTRM, through its subsidy CTRM Systems Integration, is working on the development of the systems integration capabilities in Malaysia with BAE Systems.  This is in line with the Malaysian government approach to enhance local defence capabilities”.
