PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA, Wednesday, 7 December 2011 - The ARF Defence Officials’ Dialogue (ARF DOD) was held today at the Phnom Penh Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Meeting was co-chaired by Major General Lay Chenda, Director, Department of ASEAN Affairs, General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defence, Kingdom of Cambodia; and Mr Paul Sinclair, Head, International Defence Relations, Ministry of Defence, New Zealand.
The Meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation on peacekeeping operation; and to enhance cooperation on maritime security, among ARF countries. During the Meeting, participants exchanged views on the current issues of peacekeeping operation and maritime security, and shared experiences and best practices in dealing with it.
Brunei Darussalam were represented by officials from the Directorate of Defence Policy and the Directorate of Intelligence, Ministry of Defence.
