Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg will travel to Hong Kong and Singapore June 1-5, 2011.
In Hong Kong, Deputy Secretary Steinberg will meet with the Chief Executive Donald Tsang, local citizens, scholars, and other civil society organizations to underscore U.S. support for Hong Kong's autonomy and democratic development under the Basic Law.
Deputy Secretary Steinberg will then travel to Singapore June 3, where he will speak at the 2011 Shangri-La Dialogue, a forum for exchanges among defense and security policy professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region. He will also hold bilateral meetings with various delegations attending the Dialogue.
He will depart Singapore for Washington, D.C. on June 5.
