Introductory Visit Commander Royal Brunei Navy To Thailand

Bangkok, Monday 18 April 2011 - Commmander of Royal Brunei Navy, Colonel (L) Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah call on Admiral Khamthorn Pumhiran Commander in Chief, Royal Thai Navy, General Supasit Vorasart and Representative of Minister of Defence Thailand and General Songkitti Jaggabatara, Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces as part of his introductory visit to Thailand since his appointment in 2008.

Colonel (L) Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah visited the Royal Thai Navy Headquarters and was greeted by Admiral Khamthorn Pumhiran, Commander in Chief, Royal Thai Navy. He then inspected the Guard of Honour followed by a courtesy call to Commander in Chief, Royal Thai Navy.

During his visit to the Ministry of Defence, a courtesy call was held to Ministry of Defence representative, General Supasit Vorasart and Chief of Defence Forces, Royal Thai Armed Forces Songkitti Jaggabatara followed after.

During his stay in Thailand, Colonel (L) Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah and spouse had the opportunity to visit historical places and tourist sites around the city of Bangkok.

The visit was intended to enchance the existing bilateral defence ties and cooperation between the two countries.  Colonel (L) Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah and spouse arrived on 18 April 2011 in Thailand for a three day official visit.

Brunei MoD
