Brunei: RBAF Commander Make an Introductory Visit to Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Monday 07 March 2011 - Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) made an introductory visit to the Ministry of Defence, Malaysia.

Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence, Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin inspected the Guard of Honour. This was then followed by called on Yang Berbahagia General Dato Seri Paduka Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azizan bin Ariffin, the Chief of Defence Force. The Commander RBAF also had the opportunity to call upon Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, the Minister of Defence.



The Commander RBAF also had the opportunity to visit the Malaysia Peacekeeping Training Centre, Islamic Comprehensive Training Centre (ILMI) and National Defence University (NDU) Malaysia. At present were commandants of respective centre and institutions and briefly illustrated what they have to offer within their training program.

The visit is aimed to further strengthen the existing bilateral defence ties and cooperation between the two countries.  Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia enjoyed the defence relations not only with the frequent exchanges of visit, courses and joint exercises, but also in operational areas. Personnel from both armed forces have worked together in the International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Southern Philippines and the United Nation Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and spouse Datin Nurhayana Janis binti Abdullah as well as delegation arrived on 6 March 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a 2 days visit.
