COLOMBO, July 4 (Xinhua) -- The United States on Monday said that its relations with Sri Lanka had reached a historic high and it would work together with the island nation to restore Sri Lanka's rightful place as a democratic and peaceful nation.
In a U.S. Independence Day message released by the U.S. ambassador to Sri Lanka, Atul Keshap, he said that the United States had always stood with the people of Sri Lanka and it would work with the government to make the island a strong contributor to global prosperity and stability.
