TEHRAN, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Investigations show the Islamic State (IS) was behind a foiled bombing plot against the Iranian capital Tehran and other cities, the state IRIB TV reported Monday.
The plot received 600,000 euros (667,500 U.S. dollars) from the IS, which ordered preparations that cars be fitted with number plates from Tehran and nearby cities for potential bombing attacks in the capital, the state TV reported, quoting the confessions of one of the detained terrorist suspects.
