News Story: (UK) Gurkhas 'will take brunt of job cuts'

Gurkha soldiers in the British army are to bear the brunt of the redundancies to be announced on 17 January, according to reports.

There are currently around 3,500 Gurkhas serving in the British army, and it has been suggested that the government still considers Gurkha units to be 'overmanned'.

The upcoming job cuts will make up the second wave of redundancies set out in 2010's Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR)
