The talks between Pakistan and the US on the new American strategy for South Asia hit another setback on Sunday when talks between Pakistan officials and US officials were postponed, Dawn News reported.
"The visit of acting Assistant Secretary [Alice] Wells has been postponed on Pakistan's request. It will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time," a seniorUS State Department official said on Sunday.
The rescheduling of Wells' visit was the second such request that has been made in less than a week.
According to Dawn News, Pakistan had earlier requested rescheduling the visit to Washington of its Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, who was expected in the US capital on August 25 on an invitation from US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
