News Story: US F-18 fighters depart Taiwan after repairs

Two US F-18 fighters left Taiwan Friday afternoon after making an emergency landing at a Taiwanese Air Force base two days earlier due to a mechanical problem with one of the aircraft, the ROC Air Force said.

Mark Zimmer, spokesperson for the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), the de facto US embassy in Taiwan, also confirmed that the F-18s had left.
