Su Chi, a former secretary-general of Taiwan's National Security Council, has said China may be more aggressive toward Taiwan after Xi Jinping takes over from Hu Jintao as the country's top leader, our sister newspaper Want Daily reported on Nov. 7.
"In contrast to previous presidents, Xi will be under the pressure to 'do something' on Taiwan policy," Su said. "Taiwan used to be dealing with cross-strait relations with a 'sitting back without changes' approach but this policy needs to be amended in the future, too."
