KABUL, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Elderly women in Asadabad, capital of eastern Kunar province, have expressed readiness to hold talks with the Taliban group on how to find a negotiated settlement to their insurgency- plagued country, a local news agency reported Thursday.
The first ever women- initiated peace dialogue in the form of Jirga (Afghan traditional gathering of elders) hoped the face-to-face talks with the group could help bring peace in the country, the Pajhwok Afghan News agency reported.
