Taliban insurgents have again attacked Janekhil district of eastern Paktia province on Tuesday night and clashes with the security forces continue, security source said on Wednesday.
The clashes took place after the insurgents attacked security check posts in the district and “reinforcements are needed urgently,” according to the source.
Janekhil fell into hands of the insurgents two weeks ago but security forces were able to recapture the district on Friday.
