News Story: Mirza Olang Again Under Threat Following Military Operation

By Samim Faramarz

Some public uprising forces and residents of Mirza Olang Valley in the northern Sar-e-Pul province on Thursday said the Taliban and Daesh militants are still present in parts of the area.

They said the militants have arrived at the entrance to the valley and that threats have reached a similar level as before the military operation.

Husain, 70, a resident of Sar-e-Pul city, says he took up a gun against the Taliban five months ago.

He said he was the last person to leave a hill in Mirza Olang following the militants attack.
“Taliban and Daesh have advanced towards Qaflatoon area in Mirza Olang Valley and the gate of Mirza Olang has once again changed into a battle line,” he said.

Security officials are not giving any information about the security situation in the valley.
