KABUL, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Up to 93 militants including several commanders have been killed and 26 others injured during Afghan forces' operations in restive provinces over the past 24 hours, the Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
"National security and defense forces conducted 20 clean-up operations, 18 special operations and one night operation in 16 provinces, killing 93 insurgents and injuring 26 others over the past 24 hours," the ministry said in a statement without providing information about casualties of the security forces.
