KABUL, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Some 1,300 newly graduated Afghan officers and soldiers joined the country's national army on Sunday, an army source said.
"Among those graduates, who received their certificate during a ceremony at Kabul Military Training Center (KMTC) Sunday morning, were 900 soldiers and 400 officers," Capt. Barat Ali Rizae told Xinhua.
The new graduates have received a three-month training period at the KMTC in eastern Kabul, he said, adding that they would be deployed to the countryside.
