Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo called for efforts of lawmakers to accelerate discussion for revision of the anti-terrorism bill, aiming to create an official legal framework for the country’s counter-terrorism activities.
Indonesian Attorney General Muhammad Prasetyo said that the recent attacks in Indonesia and danger of terrorism have enhanced the need to revise the anti-terrorism law of Indonesia.
The draft should define security officers’ role and their rights to promptly stop terrorism activities, he added.
