NEW DELHI, April 13 (Xinhua) -- India Thursday said that chemical weapons must not be used anywhere in the world under any circumstances and perpetrators of such acts should be brought to book, in the wake of the suspected chemical attack in Syria earlier this month.
"India is a signatory to the chemical weapons convention. It has been our consistent position that the use of chemical weapons by anyone anywhere under any circumstances should not happen," Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Gopal Baglay said.
He added: "Any perpetrator of such an act should be held accountable. That is our position on the use of chemical weapons," he added.
