COLOMBO, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka has made great progress in preventing and combating torture over the past two years, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera has said.
Samaraweera said the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka, the Police Commission, the Ministry of Law and Order, and other agencies are working together to prevent and combat torture, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.
