YANGON, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's government troops overran a hill base of Kokang's Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) on Wednesday, said a press release of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services.

The government claimed three bodies of the MNDAA and seizure of weapons in attacking the Hill Point-1269 with casualties suffering from the military.

With the occupation of the Hill Point-1269 at 01:00 a.m. local time, the government forces claimed that the key route of Laukkai-Yanlongkyaik has been under control, prompting the possibility of restoring peace in the eastern part of Laukkai.

The release said 57 skirmishes took place between March 6 and March 14 around Point-1088, BP-126 and BP-127 during the government force clearance operation, in which 17 MNDAA bodies and 27 weapons were claimed.
