UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- China on Wednesday called on the international community to continue supporting Afghanistan in its efforts to seek peace, stability and development.
Wu Haitao, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, made the remarks at an open meeting of the UN Security Council on the current situation in Afghanistan.
Wu welcomed the Afghan government's efforts to promote national reconciliation and economic development, but acknowledged that the country still faces grave challenges.
